The earliest
inscription to be found in St Edward the Confessor's graveyard is
1699 (grave no 55) - Anne wife of Robert Buswell.
Buswell
memorials include headstones, flat stones and a tomb (grave number
89). There is also, inside the church on the tower wall, a tablet
and coat of arms to the memory of John Buswell, Gent who died in 1768
and of his wife Elizabeth.
The Buswells
came here in about 1650, were lords of the manor and lived at Manor
Farm house until the early 1800s.
