in St James' churchyard. The church is to the right, from the viewpoint
of this photograph. The main part of the churchyard is extremely well
tended, but there are not many memorial stones, and fewer still where
the engraving can still be deciphered.
Family
memorials that can be seen include Gilkes, Jone, Saunders, Schuster,
Skuce, Wallace and Winter. The three memorial stones seen in the foreground
belong to members of the Schuster family, and are detailed in the
following photographs.
