A village
cottage, constructed of brick and flint.
Of the
former Britwell Castle, all that remains is a wooded mound on the
hill and a deep ditch that could have been part of the moat. It is
thought that the foundations can still be seen from theair with the
present road running through the centre.
Some
historians believe that materials from the destroyed castle were used
to build the Priory Chapel, also known as the Castle Church, and the
farmhouse now known as the Priory.
