Wendlebury means a stronghold of a man called Waendla. In 1086 Wendlebury was known as Wandesberie, and by around 1175 as Wendelberi.

To travel by road to Wendlebury, use the M40. Exit at Junction 9 (one hour north of London approx, one hour south of Birmingham approx), and turn towards Bicester. The first exit off the dual carriageway is for Wendlebury. Follow the signs and road leading into the village.
