Ardley means the woodland clearing of a man called Eardwulf. Around 995 Ardley was known as Eardulfes lea, and by 1086 as Ardulveslie.

To travel by road to Ardley with Fewcott, take the M40 and exit at Junction 10 (one hour and five minutes from London approx, 55 minutes from Birmingham approx). Take the B430 for a quarter of a mile and you'll be at Ardley.
