Adderbury
means the stronghold of a woman called Eadburh.
Around 950 Adderbury was known as Eadburggebyrig, and by 1086 as
Edburgberie.
To
travel by road to Adderbury, take the M40 and exit at Junction 11
(one hour and 15 minutes from London approx, 45 minutes from Birmingham
approx). Junction 11 is the Banbury exit. Drive into Banbury and
take the A4260 south, and it is approximately four miles straight
to Adderbury.
