A
close-up of the former servants' quarters of Brightwell Park.
When
Brightwell Park 'fell down' in the owner's parents' time, the family
moved into the coach house on the other side of the servants' quarters,
and rented out Dower House (as the servants' quarters became known).
The original manor was actually situated on the other side of the
park, but burnt down in a fire. It was then rebuilt in its present
position, only this time with the servants' quarters and kitchen as
far away from the rest of the house as possible, to try and prevent
another fire. Ironically, this second manor house, Brightwell Park,
got damp rot which caused it to fall down.
