In the 1840s the Viscount would have been Arthur Annesley, 10th Viscount (1785-1863), whose son (Arthur) was born in 1809 and died in 1844. This son married Flora Macdonald of Clanranald in 1836, and had by her two daughters (Mary and Flora), and a son (Arthur, born 1843) who became 11th Viscount Valentia on the death of his grandfather. The 11th Viscount was chairman of Oxfordshire County Council for many years, as well as holding other local public offices.
